Two men accused of unrelated child pornography offences remain in custody.

Robert Muhonen, 35, appeared in bail court Tuesday morning, charged with possession, importing and distributing child pornography. Lawyer Wayne Chorney said the man consented to detention.

The charges came late last week after the OPP executed a search warrant on the man's house in Havilland Township. Three police units were involved in the investigation: the crime and e-crimes units and Project P, the pornographic unit.

Legislation prohibits publication of any evidence submitted during a bail hearing.

Muhonen, of 16 Albert Terr., will next make a court appearance via video remand on April 15.

A second man arrested this week on similar charges had his bail hearing moved to Wednesday. Jason Elliott, 31, was wanted for failing to appear in court on production and possession of child pornography charges dating back to 2000. Elliott was located in Edmonton and was transported back to the Sault.
