Four children were rescued from a marijuana grow-op in Chestermere yesterday.

Mounties and the Southern Alberta Marijuana Investigation Team raided a home in the Springmere area and found a medium-sized grow-op in the basement.

RCMP removed about 60 marijuana plants and a hydroponic growing operation from the home, which has been condemned as unfit for habitation. Strathmore Family and Child Services seized the children, aged eight to 15, under the Drug Endangered Children Act.

A man and a woman living in the home have been taken into custody and charges are pending against them.
