Coroners service to hold inquest into children's deaths

MERRITT - The B.C. Coroners Service will hold a public inquest into the recent child deaths on April 6 in Merritt, according to a news release.

The deceased are: Kaitlynne Theresa Schoenborn, 10, Max Daniel Schoenborn, 8 and Cordon Riley Schoenborn, 5.

The presiding coroner and a jury will publicly hear evidence from subpoenaed witnesses in order to determine the facts surrounding the death. The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.

This inquest will be held in Merritt and the presiding coroner, schedule and location will be determined in the coming months.
